Tree Needs operates as a treecentric tree care company. Our company's main objective is the ongoing integrity of either your special tree or an entire tree scape. We aim to exhaust all methods of retention before considering a removal. We take great pride in upskilling all employees and associates of this company.  All Tree Needs employees hold a minimum of AQF Level 3 Arboriculture and have between 10 and 25years industry experience.

Habitat Creation

Tree Needs ecosystem management can help to design & build natural terrestrial and tree-hollow habitats for native birds, mammals and reptiles to use for their home or shelter. Our organic habitats are designed to integrate naturally into the existing treescape. We provide species specific consultation on how to best create a new habitat environment or redevelop a landscape to protect existing native fauna & flora.
After around 15yrs of trial and error in this space I've learnt it's really important to understand what is achievable and how to best attract the required species .
A common mistake some Arborists make is to create hollows that are too large , thus encouraging more dominant apex predators, such as Kookaburras. In the right setting these can be great, but they can be very aggressive and dominate the smaller species or wreak havoc on your beloved fish pond .
Species specific entry and egress to the habitat, plus thermal mass qualities all attribute to a successful install.

Tree Removal

To perform tree removal in Bass Coast, you must determine if a permit is required by contacting your local council, as permits are often needed for trees of a certain size, native species, or those protected by planning overlays. If a permit is required, an arborist's report demonstrating the need for removal is usually necessary. Once approved, Tree Needs tree removal service can be engaged to safely dismantle some of the most hazardous of trees.

Our Consulting Arborists can provide the appropriate Arborist report and either take the reins or guide you through the permit application process.

Stump Removal

At Tree Needs we offer a stump grinding service tailored  to your  property, with two different size machines we can either access tight confined spaces or use a bigger machine to provide maximum efficiency when undertaking larger scale projects . 

Stump grinding provides a low impact solution when in close proximity to service utilities or house  footings.

By choosing to grind a stump you're actually replacing valuable nutrients back into the soil whilst aerating the pore inside the soil, this proves to provide an excellent growing medium for future replacement vegetation.

Greater Glider Project - East Gippsland

Greening Australia

In partnership with Greening Australia & Landcare Victoria - Tree Needs arborists are helping to install 300 glider nest boxes in Eastern Victoria after the 2019-20 bushfires destroyed nearly 30% of the Greater Glider habitat. The nest boxes act as a substitute for tree hollows that that were damaged in the fires and are an important step to protect the Glider's diminishing population.
